1. Prologue (Transience)

    The mind awakens before all else. It creates a hazy half-idea of life before the world imposes itself upon the slumbering body. A world that is all its own; a life one can not quite remember after those few short seconds of stirring; an untouchable, unparalleled sense of self that is immediately forgotten once sense sinks in.

    No name. No body. No identity. Just self. So inexplicably sure of what it is - forgotten so completely and immediately as if it never existed - so fragile.
